Well, 2020 has made fools of us all. You've probably found yourself throwing your routines and schedules out the window, along with anything you hoped to achieve this year.
BUT it doesn't have to be a total waste. There's still time for you to come out swinging and finish 2020 STRONG.
So if you feel like you're constantly chasing your tail, then grab a notebook because I'm about to change your life.
Use this simple goal setting exercise to take back control and end the year on a high note.
A simple way to salvage what's left of the year
My goodness, I got this wrong for SO MANY YEARS. But I finally figured out what to focus on for the best results.
In the day-to-day, it often felt like I was always DOING something but not really ACHIEVING anything.
I was on a hamster wheel, rushing and racing but, ultimately, going nowhere.
My lightbulb moment came when I realised that even though I was working towards multiple goals, the fact that there were so many of them meant I was only ever making tiny bits of progress towards each one and rarely actually completing anything.
The same things were showing up on my to-do list day after day, week after week, month after month, and even year after year.
If I really wanted to make massive strides, I had to focus on just ONE THING until I was done.
No more of this:
How to choose what's most important
Now, even though the pandemic has taught us all to slow down a bit, I know it's easier said than done to pick just ONE THING.
After all, there are SO MANY THINGS vying for our attention.
So many responsibilities, so many chores, so many errands, so many tasks...
So. Much. Laundry.
I spent several days doing a bit of soul-searching and stream-of-consciousness writing and finally cracked it.
I realised how and where I'd been going wrong, and I could ensure that the thing I was choosing was, indeed, the most important thing that needed to get done.
I asked some tough questions and faced some hard truths.
I outlined the process, as well as the steps you need to take and the questions you need to answer, in this video. Click it to learn how to choose your One Thing so that you can achieve greatness, even when times are tough:
Get back on track & finish 2020 STRONG
Once you've followed the steps and identified your One Thing, all that's left is for you to carry out the action plan you've outlined for yourself.
And next week I'll be going into all the details on how you can ensure that your foundation is as solid as possible before you start building those big dreams.
NOW is the time to take back control of 2020 so, come the new year, you can look back and say that, even when times were tough and all the odds were against you, you STILL came out on top.
