My Current Planner Set-Up (From The Gogglebox To Your Eyeballs)

IT’S HERE!

I finally bit the bullet and recorded a video for the site. I kept putting it off and putting it off (the reasons for which I’ve outlined in the video) but I decided I needed to start practicing what I preach and GET MY SHIT TOGETHER.

So I did. And it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. (Isn’t that always the way?) Praise jebus for iMovie because I don’t know what I would’ve done without it. As it is, the editing is pretty minimal. But without iMovie, I dread to think how awful it would have been. (Thank you, Apple.)

It’s my planner set-up for March 2015. I’m using a Filofax Charleston (compact) as both a planner and a wallet, so I do a quick long and rambling walk-through of how I have it set up and how I use it. (Seriously, it’s about 40 minutes long. Feel free to take frequent snack breaks.)

Obviously I hope everyone watches and enjoys it, but it’s particularly for people who aren’t naturally good at decorating their planners or who struggle to make them “pretty”. Want to know what I do? I just don’t bother.

Seriously, a planner needs to be, above all else, practical. If it’s primarily about the stickers and washi, then it’s probably more of a journal or scrapbook than an actual planner.

Some people can do both. I take my hat off to them.

Thank you so much to everyone who requested the video/and or expressed enthusiasm for seeing it (especially Sarah Cassie, Sean Murphy, Leah Gaines and Aisling Nelson). Your cheerleading was immeasurably helpful.

I hope you like it, that you’ll subscribe (so I’ll know there’s a demand for more), and that you share your thoughts and questions with me in the comments, either here or on YouTube.

So without further ado (and with MUCH fear at putting myself out there in the world to be seen and judged), I give you the inaugural ‘How To Get Your Shit Together’ video.

[Commence cringing.]

How did I do?

    1. Thank you so much for the suggestion, Sarah. Sorry I put it off for so long! Your support and enthusiasm lit a fire under me.

  1. Well done Laura! I know how much effort and bravery goes into creating a video. You come across very well…I think you enjoyed making this; once you got over the initial terror 🙂 I love your planner with the coloured squares. I think I’d enjoy using that technique too. Good luck with the rest of the series.

    1. I enjoyed making it because, at that stage, no-one had to see it! Ha ha. But it’s at 160 views now (and counting!) which amazes me. I was aiming for 50, so I’m very pleased!

Those little coloured squares are what keep me going! I’ve done (or not done) so many things just so I can have the satisfaction of filling them in.

Thanks for the kinds words, Aisling. Looking forward to our meeting. =)
