I Have A Shit List; Here’s What I Use It For

Though I frequently tell people who annoy me that they’re on my shit list, the reality is that my actual shit list doesn’t contain any names at all but, rather, ‘to do’ items. I mentioned it in my last post on my task management system, and I’ve alluded to it on social media once or twice, so I thought it was about time I explained myself. My shit list is where I put small niggly tasks that aren’t overly time-sensitive but that still need to be done. They generally require very little time, and the idea is that I slot… Onwards! ->

To Do: Write A ‘TeuxDeux’ Review — CHECK!

I’ve mentioned before that I use a digital app for scheduling all my tasks and lists. Feels a bit sacrilegious seen as I’m usually a pen and paper gal, but the one big thing digital has going for it is the ability to easily move things around without messing them up. (And, y’know, that fancy cloud thing I’ve heard so much about.) My lists change on a very regular basis. I need to be able to edit them and add to them with ease. So I turned to the digital world to heal my woes. The main problem I had when… Onwards! ->

‘No Spend’ — What It Is & How I Do It

Some of you may have seen in my monthly tracker post and in my planner set-up video that I participated in a ‘no spend’ challenge. I know a lot of people are confused as to what it is and how it works, so I thought a quick post might clear things up. The basic premise is that you don’t spend money for a set amount of time (usually a month). It’s a great idea if you’re trying to save/get out of debt/curb your spending. Or if you’re a total control freak like me who just wants to know where all those… Onwards! ->

My Current Planner Set-Up (From The Gogglebox To Your Eyeballs)

IT’S HERE!   I finally bit the bullet and recorded a video for the site. I kept putting it off and putting it off (the reasons for which I’ve outlined in the video) but I decided I needed to start practicing what I preach and GET MY SHIT TOGETHER. So I did. And it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. (Isn’t that always the way?) Praise jebus for iMovie because I don’t know what I would’ve done without it. As it is, the editing is pretty minimal. But without iMovie, I dread to think how… Onwards! ->

February 2015 Wrap-Up

It’s been an odd month in the How To GYST household. It started off being quite productive, and with a new digital marketing strategy for the site. I was full of motivation and ideas on how to grow the brand, and I set about making various lists and scribbling random notes (as is my wont). And then I hit a personal set-back. Something that disrupted my normal day-to-day routine, and left me at a bit of a loss. I felt unmotivated and, as a result, I just let everything else slide in order to focus on myself and my family.… Onwards! ->
