Brain Dump — What It Is & How To Do It

And then it was December. The next few weeks are my favourite time of year. First there’s Christmas, when I get to spend quality time with family, and my house is full of joy and laughter and warmth and colour. (And chocolate.) Then comes the New Year, full of hopes and dreams and the start of a better life. It’s the time of year I feel most motivated and most full of excitement at the possibility of positive change. (And the most sure that I’ll finally kick the chocolate addiction.) This year, the motivation kicked in a little early.… Onwards! ->

December Declutter

Within the next week, we’ll be putting up all our Christmas decorations. And, if you know me, you’ll know that that means our entire house is about to get covered in colourful tinsel and other tacky things. The brighter, the better! So, with the festive holidays looming, there’s never been a better time to declutter. As you know, I’m on a major minimalism mission, which I hope to kick into overdrive in the coming weeks and months. There’ll be an influx of new toys and trinkets soon and it’s important to make space, lest I end up swallowed in… Onwards! ->

4 Ways to Supercharge Your ‘To Do’ List to Get More Done

So I’ve spoken before about planning out your days the night before. While that was a decent general overview, I wanted to share some things I’ve found extremely helpful when doing this. These are pretty much guaranteed to ensure you get more done, and save more time.   Batching The first is to batch tasks. Also, if you need to leave the house to… Onwards! ->

TIME To Get Your Shit Together

I’ve read a lot of books and blogs on productivity, and one tip I come across frequently is to use a timer. It’s that whole “race against the clock” mentality that gets the adrenaline pumping and focuses the mind. It’s particularly useful for jobs you don’t want to do, because you know there’s a time limit on it. It forces you to get it done, and get it done fast. The only problem I’ve had with implementing it is the length of time most sources suggest. Fifteen minutes? Fuck that. For me, that’s too long. Yes, there’s a MOUNTAIN… Onwards! ->

Where My GYST Journey Began

I’m 30 years old, I’m married and I have a child. We live in Dublin, and I also own a house in the city that I rent out. I manage the rental property myself, which means I’m responsible for finding and interviewing new tenants, doing basic repairs and decorating around the house, collecting rent and bill monies, paying the mortgage and utilities, and organising for contractors and handymen to carry out the work that I can’t or won’t do myself. I work Sundays and some bank holidays in a local pharmacy. I’m healthcare trained, and worked for years as… Onwards! ->
